What We Do

Our Story
Founded in 2021, Kiongozi Platform was established with a clear mission: to prepare the next generation of Kenyan leaders by providing accessible resources, community education, and opportunities in skills development, entrepreneurship, and climate action.
The name "Kiongozi" means "leader" in Swahili, reflecting our commitment to nurturing leadership qualities among Kenyan youth. We believe that empowered young people drive positive change and that inclusivity leads to stronger, more sustainable communities.
Through our platform, powered by the Sheria ya Vijana project, we work to digitally bridge the gap between youth and leadership opportunities, creating pathways for meaningful participation in Kenya's democratic future.

Our History
“Since our inception, Kiongozi has evolved from a small youth initiative into a growing digital movement. We have engaged over 5,875 young leaders across Kenya's 47 counties, providing skills development, civic education, and entrepreneurship resources. Kenya's 52.4 million people (KNBS, 2024) include over 15 million youth aged 15-35 - our primary target audience. The Kenya Youth Enterprise Development Fund (KYEDF) has cumulatively supported 315,076 groups and enterprises, reflecting the scale of the opportunity we work within. Our journey is defined by the entrepreneurs we've mentored and the communities empowered by our platform.”
